Jimmy Choo was born in Penang, Malaysia, but spent his formative years in London, England, where his family had a shoemaking business. Jimmy learned the trade from his father, who insisted that he spend time watching shoemakers at work before trying his hand. And so it was that, at the ripe old age of eleven, Jimmy Choo made his first pair of shoes.
It wasn’t however until 1996 that the Jimmy Choo brand first saw the light of day, with Vogue’s Tamara Mellon as co-founder. Its first collection was an overnight sensation.
Jimmy Choo introduced its new ophthalmic frame and sunwear collections in 2008, drawing on the brand’s emblematic luxury to create its own hallmark style—intense, independent, bold and most assuredly glamorous. Jimmy Choo frames add a touch of femininity and elegance to every outfit.
A few models from Jimmy Choo’s most recent collection feature details flawlessly illustrating the brand’s essence.
